first blog post ever!
Posted on 24 March 2015
So, here it is. My first ever blog post! I have been talking about, and wanting to start a blog for a few years now. It’s pretty cool that my first blog post is being written hours before I launch an online boutique-something else I have been talking about doing for a long time as well.
I’ll keep this post short and sweet. I just want to say “hi!” to all of you-and more importantly, thanks for reading! I thought I’d use this first post to talk about the importance of having dreams and goals. I think most people have dreams about what they want to do and how they want to live their life. I mean, how could we not? I spent a lot of time these past few years thinking about what I wanted to do…I knew what it was I wanted to do. I didn’t act though…I just thought. My husband and I even talked about it a lot. Saying things like, “how cool would it be if we had our own store” & “I bet we’d have an awesome store and be awesome at running it.” Yeah-we would! Why didn’t we do it years ago?! Well, a few reasons.
So, like I said, it’s so important to have dreams! I think it’s an essential part of living. We also need to realize that there are “seasons” to life. College is a season, marriage, having a child, having three children, promotions at work, etc. Each season we go through will pose different challenges to get through and produce different joys and rewards. The past five years have been busy for my husband and me. We have been in the season of growing our family. We have spent most of our time and energy on our small children. We loved it and we still do! I say this all for a reason. Remember those dreams? Well, it can be easy for us to lose sight of our dreams when we are in different seasons. When I was super focused on being a mom, my focus on my store dream wasn’t a priority, but I never forgot it. I knew that if I weathered and enjoyed the season of life that I was currently in-eventually my spring would come and I would be able to focus on-and tackle a new season…follow me here?
Bottom line-never lose sight or give up on your dreams. Whatever those dreams may be. Your dreams may seem like a stray thought, or they may seem completely impossible to reach, but trust me, everyone is capable of making their dreams a reality. I am living proof. So think about where you are today and where you want to be next. Maybe you are already living your dream-congrats to you! If you are not though-still enjoy every day and appreciate life and where you are in it. Make your dream your next season.
Next post will all about dresses I promise :*
